Equipment Resources

The Gorge Technology Alliance has a Robot Loaner Program with 75 LEGO Mindstorm® EV3 and NXT robotics kits available for loan to school classes or youth groups around the Gorge (within the counties of Hood River, Wasco, Sherman, Klickitat and Skamania). These kits are a great way to teach computer programming skills and otherwise get kids excited about science and engineering. The robotics kits also come with laptops equipped with the software to run the robots. Sets are available for one month or longer, depending on demand. Funding Resources

ORTOP (Oregon Robotics Tournament and Outreach Program) is a nonprofit with a mission to open doors to the worlds of science, technology, engineering and mathematics for Oregon’s youth by providing educational opportunities featuring robotics with special emphasis on maximizing the diversity of those participating. ORTOP implements Jr. FIRST® LEGO® League, FIRST® LEGO® League and FIRST® Tech Challenge and FIRST® Robotics Challenge competitions in Oregon and Southwest Washington (Skamania and Klickitat Counties included). ORTOP offers grants to schools to participate in FIRST robotics and provides training to coaches and adult mentors.
